What to do after a Property Loss

Depending on the nature of the incident or accident, call the Police or Fire Department authorities needed to assist you in an emergency.

Protect your property by making temporary repairs to prevent further damage. For example, cover your damaged roof with plastic sheeting or plywood to stop water from leaking through the opening.

Call our office and we will contact the appropriate claim office to ensure that claim information is reported and acted upon promptly.

Take pictures and make a list of what was damaged. Separate the damaged items and hold on to them until they have been inspected. Keep track of all expenses and invoices for the temporary repairs you’ve made. Get a written estimate from a trustworthy contractor for permanent repairs.

Please do not make any permanent repairs until the insurance adjuster has inspected the damage.

What to do after an Auto Accident

Request medical assistance if someone is injured. If you are uncertain, call an ambulance.

Call the police, even if the accident is minor.

If the accident is minor and there are no serious injuries, move cars to a safe place.

Exchange information with the other driver. Write down the other driver’s name, address, phone number, license plate number and insurance information. The driver may not be the owner of the vehicle so be sure to write down the owner’s name, address and phone number. If possible, get witness information.

If the damage is minor and the car is drivable, get an estimate for repairs. If the car is not drivable, have it towed to your repair shop.
